Kyle Busse joined Busse & Hunt as an associate in 2007. He represents employees in the firm's state and federal practice in matters involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, whistleblowing, wrongful discharge, family medical leave, fraud, unpaid wages, unemployment benefits, public accommodations and housing.
A graduate of the University of Oregon with a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, Kyle worked as a criminal defense and private investigator before attending law school. He started his own business, Steelhead Investigations, L.L.C., in 2002. He earned his law degree from Pace University School of Law in White Plains, New York in 2006.
During law school, Kyle interned at the New York State Capital Defender Office in Manhattan where he assisted in the representation of criminal defendants charged with capital murder. Kyle was president of the Pace Law School chapter of the American Constitution Society for Law and Policy and has represented indigent clients in the Bronx County Criminal Court through his work at the Barbara C. Salken Criminal Justice Clinic. Following his second year of law school, Kyle returned to Portland as a summer associate at Busse & Hunt, the firm his father founded in 1981.
Kyle is admitted to practice law in Oregon State Courts, the United States District Court for the District of Oregon, as well as the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.
